Part of this week's class assignment for Branding Strategies, taught by Sherry Hoffman, was to create a 30-sec lovemark video of our favorite brand. A lovemark speaks about our emotional connection with a particular brand.
I chose the brand Muji, whose name ironically means "no brand", or "brand-less" in Japanese. I've always admired the simplicity and purity of Muji's products and the way they function as a counterbalance to the over-the-top branding on many products you'll find here in America. This video expresses the calmness and serenity that Muji serves through their design language, providing quiet contemplation sheltered from the clutter of everyday life.
